This research aims to investigate the teaching and learning possibilities of the Brazilian Civil-Military Dictatorship (1964-1985), through the use of memes as a teaching resource. This research is based on the theoretical and methodological framework of Historical Education and the theory of historical consciousness. The research was carried out in the classroom, among students over the age of 18 in the third year of the Agriculture course at the Instituto Federal Baiano Campus Catu, during the second semester of 2022. The process used to obtain data was This was done through logbook records, seeking to understand the students' interactions with the contextualization of the topic, research in different sources and the experience of analyzing different resources. The method used was Discursive Textual Analysis. From the analysis of the logbooks, we sought to understand how the process of formation and production of historical narratives by students occurs. By using different resources and investigations based on the substantive concept of the Brazilian Military Dictatorship, it is expected to contribute to the training of students towards the development of historical awareness and the debate on the topic at school and in the community. We sought to understand how students learn from research and the use of these resources, and how they formulated this learning through the production of memes. It observes the meanings that students can elaborate through the past and present connection, repression and resistance, Democracy and Human Rights, in different contexts of the Recent History of Brazil.
