Abstract

Dyslipidemias are alterations in the body's lipid profile, resulting from increases in LDL and triglyceride levels or a reduction in HDL levels. This paper presents the results obtained from participating in the I Arapiraquense Symposium on Dyslipidemias, which addressed the theme of hyperlipidemia from a multidisciplinary and integrative perspective. The study consists of an experiential report that highlights the planning, organization, and execution of the event. Participants recognized the need for a multidisciplinary approach to the care of patients with dyslipidemia, given its multifactorial nature. The importance of a horizontal approach to enhance the efficacy of the therapeutic process was also highlighted. Additionally, the need to adapt the academic curriculum of health courses to value multidisciplinarity in addressing chronic problems with multifactorial etiology was identified.
