Abstract

Using research as a teaching-learning methodology is an interesting pedagogical tool because it highlights the student as the protagonist in the construction of knowledge, fostering questioning, discussions, and reflections on a topic. Based on the high incidence of dengue cases in the Campinas metropolitan region at the beginning of 2024, this project was developed with the main objective of promoting reflection on the importance of combating the proliferation of Aedes aegypti and encouraging actions to eliminate mosquito breeding sites in environments and homes. The work involved students and interns from the EJA (Youth and Adult Education) classes at the EMEJA Pierre Bonhomme school. The work was developed at the beginning of 2024 and encompassed theoretical and practical classes, where students could deepen their knowledge about the viral disease. At the end of the project, the students recorded the results obtained and their impressions of the work.
