A memória na literatura sáfica: analisando Olivia (1949) de Dorothy Strachey

This article aims to draw a parallel between studies related to memory and lesbian literature in order to understand how this relationship is established in the novel Olivia (1949) written by Dorothy Strachey. To do this, we used authors such as Seligmann-Silva (2003) and Ramos (2011), who deal with memory in literature, and Polesso (2020), Pearl (2015) and Gomyde (2021), who talk about lesbian literature and culture. From the information obtained from this study, it was possible to conclude that memory is an essential part of the creation of Sapphic literature and that Olivia (1949) presents us with the possibility of understanding queer memory beyond trauma and violence.
