The ExProsodia software has been reformulated to include two reference points: the overall mean tone (average accumulated in time) and the local mean tone. The local mean tone uses the phrasal reset values for segmentations and resets the mean tone. The hypothesis is that there is correlation between each of these moments of phrasal reset and the constitution of lexically considered sentences. These points of reference make it possible to interpret the intonation for a larger spectrum of tonal variations conditioned intentionally and unintentionally. It is proposed that variations of overall mean tone are not intentional and that local variations are intentional to the desired expression. To corroborate this hypothesis, 10 popular oral narratives were analyzed. The analyzes used the current version of ExProsodia software. The results corresponded partially to the hypothesis proposed, especially in moments of greater narrative tension.
