Os memoráveis 30 anos do Programa de Estudos Linguísticos (PRELIN – PPGLL/UFAL)

Abstract

This review is about the work 30 Years of the Linguistic Studies Program (PRELIN – PPGLL/UFAL), which brings together various research developed by faculty and students within the Linguistic Studies Group (PRELIN) of the Graduate Program in Linguistics and Literature at the Federal University of Alagoas (PPGLL/UFAL). In this sense, the aim is to present, in the following lines of this review, an overview of the 14 articles included in this production, as well as provide an assessment of them. The book, published in 2023, primarily gathers sociolinguistic studies from diverse perspectives, ranging from Variationist Sociolinguistics, often referred to as Labovian, to the then recent Historical Sociolinguistics. Additionally, it is important to note that this review is relevant due to the visibility given, through the collection, to the research conducted by PPGLL/UFAL and PRELIN, thus contributing to the development and strengthening of linguistic studies in the Northeast and Brazil.
