Discussing the continuing education of basic education teachers who work with literary texts is a way of recognizing the problems that pervade the school with regard to the success of training literary readers. This is because the expertise of the professional reader affects the way literature is presented, discussed and effectively read in the school space. Thus, we will seek to reflect on the training process of literature teachers, especially those who work in high school, in order to understand the demand for professional improvement in this area and the specificities that permeate the literary literacy process developed at school.
