Abstract
The LabPar Open Doors project, from the Parasitology Laboratory at UFAL, aims to disseminate the One Health concept, which acknowledges the interdependence of human, animal, and environmental health. Through interactive educational strategies — such as exhibits, hands-on classes, lectures, and games — it promotes knowledge about parasites, their life cycles, transmission modes, and prevention, with a focus on endemic parasitic diseases in Alagoas. The initiative engages students from middle school to university level, encouraging interest in health sciences and higher education. By offering practical experiences and exposure to the academic environment, the project supports critical and interdisciplinary training, emphasizing the role of health education in public health. Thus, LabPar contributes to scientific citizenship and addresses health challenges through the integration of science, education, and society.
