Abstract
In October 2023, the Information Systems course received technological equipment through a donation, generating the need to identify and diagnose this equipment, since the Penedo unit does not have its IT center. Given this, this paper reports the results of the extension project that aims to provide maintenance for this equipment (computers, printers, peripherals, among others). The project focuses on preventive and corrective maintenance, including hardware and software replacements, integrating students in a hands-on learning approach (learning-by-doing). A team of students will be formed to carry out repairs, updates, and optimizations, to improve the technological infrastructure of the IT course, especially with the proposal to create a new computer lab. In parallel, computer maintenance courses will be offered to the local community, aiming to strengthen ties between the university and society.
